Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic, Greek for “healing with the hands,” employs drug-free methods to treat pain and physical dysfunction. This discipline focuses on the neuromusculoskeletal system, providing diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system, and joints. Chiropractic treatment has been shown to improve your general well-being. There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care, including:
  • Back or Neck Pain
  • Headache
  • Whiplash
  • Strains and Sprains
  • Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
  • Work and Sports Injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Limited Range of Motion (back, shoulder, neck, or limbs)
  • General Health and Well-Being
Chiropractic is a regulated health profession, recognized by statute in all Canadian provinces and American states. More than 1.2 million patients in Ontario rely upon chiropractic care every year to help them live healthy, active lives.

Manual Adjustment

This treatment involves applying pressure, typically to the spinal column, in order to mainly address joint pain. At Corunna Chiropractic & Massage, chiropractic is performed on a chiropractic table that can be adjusted to attain maximum results from manual adjustment. Manual adjustments can make a “popping” sound, which is the release of nitrogen gas that has built up in the joint.

Activator® Adjustment

The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique® is the most popular method of chiropractic adjustment using an instrument. It is used in approximately 70% of all chiropractic offices today. Like traditional manual adjustment, the goal of the Activator Method is to restore spinal balance. This method is effective, safe, and gentle. The Activator is a hand-held instrument that delivers a comfortable, fast, and controlled thrust. This method delivers an accurate and precise adjustment.
